In Mithila, the elephant, or hathi, is a cherished symbol of strength, wisdom, abundance, and good fortune. Its majestic presence represents dignity, protection, and the blessings of prosperity. In Madhubani art, the elephant is often surrounded by flowers, vines, and intricate patterns, reflecting its connection with nature and the richness of life. This painting celebrates the Hathi as a graceful guardian of tradition, a bearer of auspiciousness, and an enduring symbol of joy and well-being in Mithila culture.
